Project: Paper and Pencil Game - Letters (2 Players)
Authors: June Fujiwara and Marie-Claude Lavoie
Materials:
2 writing implements
2 sheets of paper
1 coin
1 prize (players' choice!)
1 dictionary (to avoid conflicts)
Rules:
Flip a coin to decide who starts.
The player who wins the coin toss picks a letter.
The second player picks a category. This category can be anything (ie. animals, country, names, etc.)
Players start writing words down that begin with that letter and are in some way related to the category.
Step 4 ends when players agree that they have run out of words. Once a player states that he/she can not come up with any more word, he/she must stop writing.
There are five rounds.
How to Win:
There are five different goals which can be applied to the consecutive rounds. The player who wins the round gets a point. The player with the most number of points at the end of the five rounds wins the game.
Goals:
most words
most number of vowels (a, e, i ,o ,u, y)
least number of vowels (a, e, i ,o ,u)
longest word
most number of consecutive pairs (ie. rabbit has a consecutive pair)
