Project: Paper and Pencil Game - Letters (2 Players)
Authors: June Fujiwara and Marie-Claude Lavoie

Materials:

Rules:
  1. Flip a coin to decide who starts.
  2. The player who wins the coin toss picks a letter.
  3. The second player picks a category. This category can be anything (ie. animals, country, names, etc.)
  4. Players start writing words down that begin with that letter and are in some way related to the category.
  5. Step 4 ends when players agree that they have run out of words. Once a player states that he/she can not come up with any more word, he/she must stop writing.
  6. There are five rounds.

How to Win:

There are five different goals which can be applied to the consecutive rounds. The player who wins the round gets a point. The player with the most number of points at the end of the five rounds wins the game.

Goals:
  • most words
  • most number of vowels (a, e, i ,o ,u, y)
  • least number of vowels (a, e, i ,o ,u)
  • longest word
  • most number of consecutive pairs (ie. rabbit has a consecutive pair)
