Here are some of the special design features of the individual sketch models we originally created.

As we were observing them in class, we picked out several features which we though could be in the final design.

<< We thought this bulbous shape was rather interesting. If it was implemented as displayed here, in strips of metal, we could have provided the library patrons with windows without direct sunlight. It also would have directed your line of sight depending on where you sat within the area.
This slanted roof was used in several of the mini-designs so we thought that, through democratic means, it should be included into the final design. >>
<< Shapes that complemented the curvature in the northwestern facade of the building were considered an interesting choice. We were deliberating how to add this to the building without detracting from the spherical shape above.
We believe this alley design to be well completed and interesting for the shop owners as well as the public. >>
<< We decided that more spacious strip might even out the bulbous shape mentioned above if put on the opposite side.

After putting a temporary model together and discussing it within the team, we decided that mixing-and matching the different parts together would form a disjointed design. We decided to discuss this issue with our instructor, Russel Taylor. He suggested that we choose one of our existing designs and improve upon it, which we did. This design is introduced later.
